ROME – On Sept. 27, 40 seminarians from the Pontifical North American College were ordained to the transitional diaconate during a celebration of the Eucharist. Among the newly ordained deacons were Jerome Krug and Will Banowsky.

My daughter was born on the Feast of Corpus Christi, near the time of consecration at our parish. “Tantum Ergo” echoed in my head from our previous evening’s Mass attendance. As the summer continued, my husband taught our children to chant “Ave Verum” and we heard the proclamation of the “Bread of Life” discourse from John’s Gospel.
Blessed Stanley Rother made a mud cake with his sister. They used real eggs. In his youth he also milked cows and learned to drive a tractor when he was 10. The farm life was full of adventure and hard work. WASHINGTON (CNS) -- In response to the church abuse crisis, many parishes around the country have been bringing out the big guns in a spiritual sense -- calling on St. Michael the Archangel to help the church.
The Archdiocese of Oklahoma City established the Saint Kateri Tekakwitha Spiritual Center of Oklahoma in 2017. The director is Deacon Roy Callison, coordinator for American Indian Catholic Outreach for the archdiocese.
His uncle mentioned the Tekakwitha Conference a few years ago as something to “check out,” but Robert Barbry II never thought it would be his “next step” in ministry. Now, three years later, Barbry is the new executive director of the Tekakwitha Conference.
SHAWNEE – The American Indian Catholic Outreach (AICO) for the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City opened the Saint Kateri Tekakwitha Spiritual Center of Oklahoma Aug. 28 on the campus of Saint Gregory’s University in Shawnee. The spiritual center is a ministry of the AICO.
