Archbishop Coakley’s statement on shootings in New York, California

“As we read the names of the 10 innocent men and women who were victims of a targeted attack in Buffalo, N.Y., we are reminded that racism and violence still profoundly affect our culture. This evil causes great harm and it corrupts the souls of those who harbor racist or prejudicial thoughts. I invite you to join me in a particular prayer for the victims of recent shootings in our nation and for all victims of violence and racism, and their families.”
