Diane Floyd, Ph.D., superintendent of catholic schools for the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City, has accepted a position as the director of admissions for Mount Saint Mary Catholic High School in Oklahoma City.
She begins her new position this summer after spending nine years in the archdiocesan Catholic Schools Office, five as superintendent.
“I am thankful for the dedication and tireless work of Dr. Floyd over the past nine years at the chancery and throughout this past year during the pandemic. Her leadership and commitment to Catholic education allowed our schools to remain open and our students to continue to receive a quality faith-based Catholic education. She will be a wonderful addition to Mount Saint Mary’s Catholic High School, and I will continue to pray for her success as she jumps back into her calling to serve students and families at the high school level. She will be missed,” Archbishop Coakley said.
April 20, 2021
Dear fellow Catholic school faculty, staff and families,
After much prayer and discernment, I have come to the decision to step away from my role as the Superintendent of Catholic Schools for the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City at the close of the 2020-2021 school year.
It has been a tremendous honor and privilege to work with so many of you to advance the mission of Catholic schools for these past five years as Superintendent. I feel privileged to have worked at the archdiocesan level for nine years. I am proud of the work being done in our schools, especially the extraordinary effort of the past year, and I know we will continue to be successful for many years to come thanks to our incredible Catholic school leaders and educators. I am thankful to have had the opportunity to serve in Catholic education in this unique way.
Please know this was not an easy decision. It took much prayer and consideration with my family, but I am confident that this move is where I am called to be at this time and in the best interest of my family.
Through this time of prayer and discernment, I was hopeful that I would still be able to serve our schools in some capacity. I am committed to the mission of Catholic education and I feel fortunate that God has put before me a new, but familiar path. I am happy to share that I will be joining the Mount Saint Mary Catholic High School community as the Director of Admissions. I look forward to serving in this capacity and continuing in our shared mission to “Go Make Disciples!”
I will continue to pray for all of you and celebrate the inevitable success of our Catholic schools. I ask you to keep me, my family, the archdiocesan Catholic Schools Office and our Catholic school professionals in your prayers as well.
In Christ,
Diane Floyd, Ed.D. Superintendent of Catholic Schools Archdiocese of Oklahoma City
