Oral history interviewers

The Archdiocese of Oklahoma City is seeking independent contractors to conduct and record oral history interviews as part of the Oklahoma Catholic Native Schools Project. Contractors will be provided with a list of people to be interviewed. Must have a bachelor’s degree, preferably in social sciences, history, archival studies or Native American studies; experience in conducting oral history interviews and excellent communication, organization and time management skills. Knowledge of oral history/archives methods and Native American boarding school history preferred. Must have own transportation to travel throughout the state of Oklahoma and be flexible as opportunities arise. Having own video/audio equipment preferred but can be provided upon request. Hourly compensation will be commensurate with experience. Mileage and expenses provided. While Native American heritage is not a job requirement, knowledge and respect of Native American culture is preferred. This position does not require applicants to be Catholic, non-Catholics are encouraged to apply.
