The Archdiocese of Oklahoma City is seeking independent contractors to conduct and record oral history interviews as part of the Oklahoma Catholic Native Schools Project. Contractors will be provided with a list of people to be interviewed. Must have a bachelor’s degree, preferably in social sciences, history, archival studies or Native American studies; experience in conducting oral history interviews and excellent communication, organization and time management skills. Knowledge of oral history/archives methods and Native American boarding school history preferred. Must have own transportation to travel throughout the state of Oklahoma and be flexible as opportunities arise. Having own video/audio equipment preferred but can be provided upon request. Hourly compensation will be commensurate with experience. Mileage and expenses provided. While Native American heritage is not a job requirement, knowledge and respect of Native American culture is preferred.
