Required change to the Collects of the Roman Missal

The U.S. bishops were notified of a small change to be made in the concluding doxology of the Collects in the Roman Missal. The word “one” is to be omitted.

Thus: “One God, for ever and ever” becomes “God,for ever and ever.”

The change is to be implemented on Ash Wednesday, Feb. 17. In addition to making the change in the texts of the Roman Missal, the change also should be made in the texts of other liturgical books.
