Marina Harris is a Boy Scout in the Lawton area who has taken on a renovation project at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church for her Eagle Scout project.
“I am working on my Eagle Scout project for Blessed Sacrament. I plan on refurbishing the sacristy’s creedon, which includes drawers and cabinets. It stores the linens and things that are used for Mass,” said Harris. “I plan on installing hardware and sanding down the wood and applying sealer and stainer. I was planning to have it done by the 25 of August, but any day earlier will be much better.”
She explained that the Eagle Project is a rank in the Boy Scouts.
“Now that they are letting girls in, I’ve joined it, and I have been working on my Eagle Rank for quite a bit of time,” said Harris.
Harris is a student of Epic Charter School and is about to start her junior year. Her fellow Boy Scouts are helping her throughout the project, and she said she will accept help from anyone else who wants to help.
