OKLAHOMA CITY — Mount Saint Mary Catholic High School’s annual Week of Giving from April 25-29 raised a record-breaking $277,473.
The campaign kicked off April 25 with the first record of the week as students raised $59,295 through the annual Phone-A-Thon. Students, paired into teams, competed to secure the most commitments of the evening.
“We were blown away by this incredible support,” said Chris Stiles, director of advancement. “Our motto for the week was ‘One Week. One Mount. One Community’ and our Mount family answered the call.”
Throughout the week, the Mount community answered calls and texts in a new direct campaign effort. By integrating the school’s latest technology, students were able to utilize Google Voice on their 1:1 Chromebooks for Phone-A-Thon calls. Additional technology for this year’s campaign allowed MSM to connect with students, alumni and community members via texting for easy giving with a digital wallet feature.
“I love being a part of the Phone-A-Thon every year because it is a great way to directly see who is benefitting my school environment,” said sophomore Ainsley Greenhaw. “The event this year was a great success; I loved working with my peers to help our school.”
Gifts made through the campaign were matched up to $100,000 and more than 280 alumni, past and present parents, grandparents and friends of the Mount made a contribution during the week.
All proceeds go directly to the school’s annual giving program, The Mount Fund.
“We raised more than 60 percent of our annual fund goal during this one week,” Stiles said. “A gift to the Mount Fund enhances all aspects of our school.”
The Mount Fund supports student programs and activities, tuition assistance, retaining quality teaching professionals as well as operating, maintaining and upgrading the historic campus.
