The National Catholic Youth Conference returns to Indianapolis

WASHINGTON D.C. — The 2023 National Catholic Youth Conference will be held Nov. 16-18, at the Indiana Convention Center. NCYC is produced and presented by the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry.

“NCYC is a powerful experience for teens - sharing faith, hope, love, struggles, adoration, worship, praise, on probably the largest scale they will ever encounter.” – NCYC 22 adult group leader.

This year’s theme is “Fully Alive,” inspired by Genesis 1:23-27; God created mankind in his image; in the image of God, he created them. The theme “Fully Alive,” explores the mystery of creation in the image of God. To be fully alive is to be like Christ. At NCYC, the team of speakers and artists will help teens reflect on how they, too, are made in the image and likeness of God and are called to be fully alive in his presence. The event is a powerful and life-changing faith experience that offers young people an opportunity to encounter Christ.

This distinctly Catholic three-day conference will include opportunities for spiritual growth, prayer, learning and service. Participants will engage with an extensive program of workshops and prayer experiences, along with an interactive thematic village that includes artistic and recreational activities and opportunities to connect with religious communities and Catholic colleges and universities.

NCYC programming will feature Sr. Josephina Garrett, CSFN, and Mari Pablo, as emcees, among many other speakers and award-winning musicians like For King & Country, the opening act for the conference. 
Archbishop Nelson J. Perez of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia will attend NCYC in his role as the episcopal liaison of NFCYM. Archbishop Perez can often be found with the youth and young adults in his diocese and reminds them, “you are not the future of the Church, you are the Church.”

U.S. bishops have a unique opportunity to engage directly with young people, not only from their diocese, but from across the nation at NCYC.
