Vincentians across the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City celebrated the Feast Day of St. Vincent dePaul, Sept. 27 at Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church in Oklahoma City.
The Feast Day celebration began with Mass with Father Balraj Sagiti Jesudas (Father Bala). During his homily, Father Bala shared his own Vincentian story from when he was a seminarian, going out on home visitations on his bicycle.
The Mass was followed by a potluck supper in the parish hall. Jim Ray, president of the Archdiocesan Council, spoke on the three elements of the Vincentian Charism: prayer, friendship and service. He expressed the need to encourage others to join the society and to live their faith by loving and committing themselves to service to their neighbors in need. Deacon Javier Solis, spiritual director for the Society, led those present in the annual commitment ceremony.
