REPORTS TO: Senior Director of Development & Outreach
JOB OBJECTIVE: The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Director of Parish Engagement with providing effective and timely coordination of all volunteer activities including managing internal and external expectations, recruiting volunteers, coordinating volunteer opportunities with parishes and other Catholic Charities aligned partners throughout the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City. This position will also fortify the structure of the volunteer program and enhance the culture of volunteerism throughout Catholic Charities.
The essential job duties include but are not limited to:
· Organize and coordinate the orientation of volunteers.
· In coordination with the Senior Director of Administration and Safe Environment Coordinator, ensure timely processing of volunteer applications, interviews, certifications, and orientations.
· In partnership with others inside and outside the agency, develop opportunities to engage more volunteers across the archdiocese.
· Serve as support staff at fundraising events.
· Review current volunteer database and procedures to see where things could be clarified, streamlined and strengthened between programs and potential volunteers.
· Communicate with volunteers to match volunteer interests to departments’ needs.
· Maintain Safe Environment compliancy at 90% or above in conjunction with archdiocesan regulations.
· Manage volunteer software to track volunteer service hours.
· Accurately track volunteers, individual service hours, and detailed performance metrics for PQI & grant reporting.
· Coordinate with Parish Engagement to obtain knowledge about local parishes and volunteerism.
· Maintain communication with volunteers, frequently engaging with them.
· Organize volunteer appreciation opportunities.
· Assist with all fundraising and outreach activities and events in support of department goals.
· Other duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Development & Outreach.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position will supervise volunteers.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
· High school diploma and at least two years of experience directly related to the responsibilities specified.
· Those with Human Resource experience are encouraged to apply.
· Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
· Ability to drive and possess a valid Oklahoma Driver’s License and clean driving record.
· Fluency in written and spoken English; fluency in Spanish, is preferred.
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
· Strong verbal and written communication, listening, and presentation skills.
· Strong flexible interpersonal skills required to interact effectively with employees and managers at all levels in the organization and a very diverse pool of volunteers.
· Excellent organizational skills required to ensure that multiple tasks receive adequate and timely attention.
· Able to function autonomously and be proactive.
· Ability to interpret, develop and apply human resources policies and procedures.
· Sensitive to diversity and to clients of differing racial, economic and ethnic backgrounds
· Good decision-making abilities. Able to make informed decisions based on limited fact and guidance.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This is sedentary work that requires the following physical activities:
· Sitting for long periods of time, walking, finger dexterity, feeling, repetitive motions, talking, hearing, and visual activity.
· Occasional lifting (up to 10 pounds of computer equipment or paper supplies).
· May be required to travel by car or plane to business events or other company locations. Travel may require prolonged sitting or standing.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
· Normal office environment, with occasional bending, stooping, pushing, pulling
· Ability to drive an Agency vehicle and travel within the greater Oklahoma City community and areas served.
· May be subjected to fast-paced decision-making, crisis situations.
· Fast-paced environment and ability to make decisions and respond to crisis situations.
