Want to give your IRA a paid vacation?
Want to give more to a parish but need the income from an IRA to live on in retirement? The Secure 2.0 Act provides an opportunity for people to use a tax-free distribution from an IRA to create a charitable gift annuity at the Catholic Foundation of Oklahoma. The annuity then provides income to the person during their lifetime. At the end of a person’s life, the remainder value of the annuity will support grants to the Catholic community. Call at the Catholic Foundation of Oklahoma (405) 721-4115 or visit cfook.org.
IRA Qualified Charitable Distribution
Attention people who are 73 or older and have a required minimum distribution (RMD) from their IRA this year. Rather than take the RMD and pay income tax, use an IRA Qualified Charitable Distribution to support a parish. Learn how by reaching out to the Catholic Foundation of Oklahoma at cfook.org/qcd or call (405) 721-4115.
Use taxes to help provide student scholarships
State law allows couples who file a joint tax return to receive up to $2,000 as a credit back on their Oklahoma income taxes. If someone gives $2,667 per year for two years to the Tax Credit Scholarship program, they receive $2,000 back on their tax return. They win, and so do Catholic schools in the archdiocese. Call Owen Canfield at (405) 709-2700 or visit tcsok.org to learn more.
Safe environment training
The archdiocese has an updated training program for volunteers, staff members and clergy that is required before working with minors in the diocese’s Catholic churches and schools. Learn more at archokc.org/safe-environment.
