Both teachers at Archdiocese of Oklahoma City Catholic Schools and all catechists in the Archdiocese are able to request equivalency credit on the Catechetical Institute (FranciscanAtHome.com) platform for education and formation previously received and documented. Equivalency credit toward certification will be granted by the Secretariat for Evangelization and Catechesis of the Archdiocese. Requests can be submitted using the link below.
Since the fall of 2019, the Initial Certification Program for the Archdiocese through the Echoes of Faith curriculum has been replaced by mentored workshops through the Catechetical Institute (CI) of the Franciscan University of Steubenville, also known as FranciscanAtHome.com. The chart below explains the transfer of completed Echoes of Faith modules to workshops within the Catechetical Institute.
Most Echoes modules transfer to Franciscan at Home workshops in one-to-one ratios. Some of these workshops are part of Basic Certification for all ministry areas, while some contribute to Intermediate Certification as a Catechist within the Archdiocese. Some of the early Echoes modules transfer to just one Franciscan at Home workshop, for example, “The Vocation of the Catechist.” If someone seeking certification has completed all three modules, a substitution for the completion of The Vocation of the Catechist will be credited. If only some modules have been completed, the Vocation of the Catechist workshop should be completed. The Basic Certification Track currently consists of four(4) workshops and Safe Environment training. These workshops are:
