First aid:
First aid supervisor is responsible for distributing medication and responding to emergencies if they arise supervises health care at camp. Everyone on our adult staff are CPR and 1st aid trained. It is not necessary to bring over the counter medications to camp, as our first aid is stocked with common over the counter medicines.
Special Needs:
Our single most important job at camp is the safety of all our campers and staff. Everyone is welcome with the understanding that we put everyone in a place to succeed. Our staff does not have specific training to assist a camper with special needs. We will do our best to make accommodations to ensure a successful week at camp for all campers. Please contact our offices if you have any questions or concerns.
Medication:
We require that all medication (including vitamins) must come to camp in the original container and be clearly labeled with the correct name, drug, and dosage schedule. The camp will not give campers any medication that is improperly labeled or not prescribed for your child. Please send no more than what is needed for the week. We cannot accept day-planners or other containers used at home. All medications are kept in locked storage and will be checked in with the Health Manager upon your arrival at camp. Please bring all medications to the mess hall during check-in. Medications may not be kept with the camper, including non-prescription drugs (exceptions can be made for “rescue” inhalers and epi-pens).
Ill or injured campers
If your child becomes acutely ill, we will keep assist them in our first aid center for up to 24 hours at which point we will ask for them to be picked up, any child with a contagious illness will be sent home.
In the event of an injury or if a child becomes ill beyond the basic first aid and minor illness our first aid staff will call to inform the parent of the situation, treatment, and next steps.
