The Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Women held their 21st Biennial Convention “Women of Faith and Vision 2022” on April 30 at the Catholic Pastoral Center.
Keynote speakers were Father Bill Pruett, ACCW spiritual advisor, and Larann Wilson, director of parish leadership engagement for the archdiocese. Wilson’s presentation “An Easter Reflection on Saint Mary Magdalene” was a way to continue on an Easter journey.
The ACCW $500 scholarship winner, Taylor Marie Barton, was introduced and awarded her certificate. Barton is a senior from Cache and a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Lawton. She is concurrently enrolled at Cameron University where she is taking classes in criminal justice, a career path she plans to pursue. She has been home-schooled since first grade and said it has provided her a Christ-centered and academically strong Catholic education.
ACCW officers for 2022-2024 were elected. Novalyn Greff, central region president and Victoria Stringer, south region president, will be ACCW co-presidents, Kathy Holland, treasurer, and Mary Ann Schmitt, secretary.
The day ended with raffle drawings and silent auction winners. The funds raised from the auction and raffle go to the scholarship program and general fund.
