OKLAHOMA CITY – Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City held its 12th annual fundraiser for Sanctuary Women’s Development Center at Dunlap Codding with a record-setting number of attendees raising more than $48,000.
“It was a fun-filled evening raising money for a worthy cause,” said Jessi Riesenberg, senior director of development and outreach at Catholic Charities. “It was wonderful seeing the crowd enjoying themselves and coming together to support Sanctuary Women’s Development Center. I am grateful to each sponsor, vendor and attendee for making the night a tremendous success by doubling the funds typically raised at this event.”
Sanctuary Women’s Development Center offers at-risk women and children a secure, empowering environment where they can obtain social services, receive life-skills training and work alongside a case manager to achieve independence.
“This funding directly impacts the women’s abilities to secure housing, food, identification and other major necessities we might take for granted,” said Racheal Singley, director of Sanctuary Women’s Development Center. “The financial gifts from this event provide women a safe place to shelter from the elements when they have nowhere else to go. When we help them feel safe and empowered, they are more likely to succeed.”
