Catholic Charities invites Oklahomans to wear their best green and join them for the 2024 Green Tie Gala, at 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City. Tickets are close to selling out, so the public is encouraged to make their purchase soon, as seats are limited.
The Green Tie Gala includes live and silent auctions featuring luxury vacations and Oklahoma City Thunder tickets, a wine and whiskey pull and updates from Executive Director Patrick Raglow on the success of the new Sanctuary Women’s Development Center set to open this May
This year’s honorees are former United Way of Central Oklahoma President and CEO Debby Hampton and The Chickasaw Nation.
Hampton, the Ambassador Awardee, served as president and CEO of United Way of Central Oklahoma from 2010 through 2023. During Hampton’s tenure at United Way, more than $278 million was raised to support disaster relief and programs of nonprofit partner agencies providing health and human services in central Oklahoma. Before that, she was president and CEO of the Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits for four years. Hampton spent 16 years with the American Red Cross of Central Oklahoma, including the last four as CEO. Her tenure as a non-profit trailblazer has won her numerous awards and accolades.
“I support Catholic Charities and would encourage others to as well, because it is an agency making a strong and positive impact in our community, working every day to improve the lives of our most vulnerable citizens,” Hampton said.
This year’s Mosaic Award will be presented to The Chickasaw Nation. This award is presented at the gala every year to an organization that demonstrates its commitment to helping Catholic Charities fulfill its mission of providing help and hope. The Chickasaw Nation has provided essential support to Catholic Charities and its programs, particularly the Sanctuary campaign.
“This year’s gala will be about celebrating our new Sanctuary building and looking to the future,” said Racheal Singley, Catholic Charities Director of Sanctuary Women’s Development Center OKC. “The gala’s proceeds ensure our Sanctuary centers in Oklahoma City and Norman can continue to provide hope and healing to the women and children we serve and will continue to serve even better in our new building.”
Catholic Charities will also honor Father Joseph A. Jacobi for his constant support of Catholic Charities services and programs.
All proceeds will go toward services for the Sanctuary Women’s Development Center, a day shelter in Oklahoma City and Norman for women and children experiencing homelessness. Sanctuary offers unique social services to help restore feelings of self-worth, confidence, and dignity to unhoused and at-risk women by offering access to employment resources; job and life skills development; counseling; linkage to community resources; a shower; and a laundry facility.
Tickets for the gala are $250 each with sponsorships also available. For more information about sponsorships, to purchase tickets or donate, contact Marissa Noland at Catholic Charities at (405) 526-2323 or visit GreenTieGala.org.
