You are a blessing to the Church in central and western Oklahoma!
Your support of the 2020 Annual Catholic Appeal helped the archdiocese reach a record setting $3.6 million in funds raised to support our shared ministries in the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City! This is especially remarkable in light of the challenges the COVID-19 pandemic has brought upon everyone. I pray that as we begin 2021, we can come together to strengthen the Church’s ministry efforts as we address the growing needs of our archdiocesan community.
The 2021 Annual Catholic Appeal theme is “I turn to you, Lord, in time of trouble.” We turn to the Lord in times of trouble and he fills us with the joy of Salvation. Your financial commitment to the Annual Catholic Appeal can be an outward expression of your joy.
Each year, the archdiocese conducts the Annual Catholic Appeal to support Youth, Young Adult & Campus Ministry, Vocations Ministry, Evangelization & Discipleship Formation, Religious Education & Catholic Schools, Clergy Formation, Marriage & Family Life, Respect Life efforts, and funding for local Hispanic Ministry.
Now more than ever, parishes and schools are relying on archdiocesan support services to guide and assist them. We need your personal participation to reach the minimum goal of $3.75 million. We will continue to return 50 percent of your parish’s paid-over-goal funds to assist your pastor in addressing local parish needs.
With the knowledge that some in the archdiocese may be facing challenging financial realities, and with concern for the people we serve, I encourage those who are able to be as generous as possible in their support of the Annual Catholic Appeal. Please consider making a recurring monthly gift to the appeal so the shared ministries of the Church can have a predictable level of support and continue their important work. You can increase, decrease or stop your recurring gift at any time.
Please respond by going online to archokc.org/appeal to make your gift. Please pray for the success of this year’s Annual Catholic Appeal.
Assuring you of my continued prayers for you and your family, I am
Sincerely yours in Christ,
Most Rev. Paul S. Coakley
Archbishop of Oklahoma City
