December 20, 2021Father John Wade, a retired priest, died peacefully Dec. 20 at Porta Caeli House, the palliative care facility at Catholic Charities in Tulsa. He was age 90.
He had been transferred to the Porta Caeli House a couple of days earlier. Bishop Konderla gave him the Apostolic Pardon and the Anointing of the Sick.
Wake Service – Tuesday, Dec. 21, at 7 p.m. at Holy Family Cathedral, Tulsa
Funeral Mass – Wednesday, Dec. 22, at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Cathedral, Tulsa
Burial at Calvary Cemetery
Eternal rest grant to him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
Father Wade also served in several parishes in the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City before choosing to stay in Tulsa after the statewide diocese split into the Diocese of Tulsa and the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City.
