On Nov. 4 at Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church in Oklahoma City, the Office of Hispanic Ministry and Cultural Diversity and the Bl. Stanley Rother Institute provided a workshop to prepare leaders for catechesis. Fifty-one Hispanic catechists attended from nine parishes. The group learned how present the teachings of the Catechism in a dynamic and evangelizing way.
The course is an opportunity to promote a spiritual renewal while learning the baptismal rite and the meaning of their symbols and signs.
Several new students were parents and godparents who participated in the preparation to baptize their children.
Participation of parents and godparents is encouraged. Through Bible studies, they are led to know profound meaning of the sacrament and feel the desire to commit themselves to the mission of educating themselves and their children as disciples in the life of the Church.
