JOB TITLE: Housing Stability Case Manager (Refugee Resettlement)
REPORTS TO: Housing Stability Lead
JOB OBJECTIVE: This position is responsible for assisting with long term housing stability particularly for newly arrived Afghan families under the Afghan Placement and Assistance program (APA) after Emergency Rent and Utility Assistance (ERA) funds have been exhausted.
Housing stability requires building collaborative relationships with landlords and community partners. Must work closely with employment services department to ensure adequate income stream(s) for ongoing housing stability.
The essential job duties include but are not limited to:
Is the liaison between landlords and tenants as needed.
Provides training and guidance to families regarding landlord-tenant issues and assists in navigating the legal process if needed.
Works in partnership with other case managers to identify possible risk for losing tenancy and develops a plan to remediate.
Engages clients in the case management process that includes:
Building a relationship of trust and support
Develop an individual service plan in partnership with the client and case manager as needed to focus on long term self-sufficiency.
Provide appropriate referrals to community resources and advocate on behalf of the client
Meets directly with clients as needed and maintains precise and accurate documentation regarding tenancy and ensures documentation is included in the case database (Caseworthy) for all contacts.
Familiar with eviction court processes and procedures as well as legal resources available and makes appropriate referrals.
Assists clients with identifying appropriate locations for rent, completing lease agreements and obtaining other supportive documents such as identification, social security cards and so forth as required by leasing agents/property.
Assists clients in accessing and maintaining entitlements and benefits.
As long as services are available, ensures Community Cares Partners (CCP) policies and processes are followed for all refugee families who qualify for services.
As long as services are available, ensures lease and all other documents are current in the CCP portal and are updated as required to ensure ongoing services.
Ancillary job duties:
Participates in outreach activities related to Refugee Resettlement
Is familiar with community housing resources and is able to quickly assess and make appropriate referrals.
Establishes and maintains close collaborative working relationship with community resources; attends and participates in appropriate coalition and other community resource meetings.
Facilitates and coordinates supportive activities within Catholic Charities and community partners, including employment assistance programs, job readiness training, financial education, and behavioral health services, to meet the person’s needs, preferences, and goals to build upon his/her strengths.
Arranges transportation as needed. May be asked to provide transportation for a client and/or family as it relates to the position, using an agency vehicle.
Performs other related duties as required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: There are no supervisory responsibilities in this position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION:
Undergraduate degree in social work or behavioral science preferred
Two plus years of previous experience in adult case management preferred.
Computer literate; experienced with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), Outlook, Internet.
Fluency in Spanish and English preferred.
A combination of education and relevant experience may also be considered

Possess a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential Catholic Charities, client, donor, and employee information and situation. Strong advocacy skills.
Able to set and maintain appropriate, healthy boundaries with clients.
Display a high level of initiative, effort, and commitment towards completing assignments efficiently. Possess well-developed, decision-making skills, attention to detail with a high level of accuracy. Excellent organizational and time management skills to ensure multiple tasks receive adequate and timely attention. Able to function autonomously and be proactive.
Ability to research, gather data, compile information and prepare reports. and utilize community resources.
Ability to drive - must have valid Oklahoma driver’s license

Ability to respond quickly to crisis situations
May be required to sit or stand for long periods of time
