As the Bishop McGuinness Catholic High School students approach spring break, they have been busy with both academic and athletic achievement while winter sports conclude and spring sports begin.
Eucharistic procession In celebration of the 2025 Jubilee Year of Hope, McGuinness held its first Eucharistic procession, with students lining the halls to honor the Blessed Sacrament.
The Jubilee Year is a biblical and historical tradition which comes from the Old Testament, specifically the Book of Leviticus. This year is a year of restoration, grace and forgiveness, the theme being Pilgrims of Hope.
“This is just a cool thing we do to bring Jesus out to our community and school,” Campus Minister Kelly Allen said. “This is just a really great celebration.”
For students, this year is the first opportunity to celebrate a Jubilee Year.
“I think it's very interesting that we celebrate this,” sophomore Lacey Lake said. “They don't do this at every school, so it's a rare time and a rare thing that makes us different from other schools.”
