The Center of Family Love (CFL), in partnership with the historic bourbon brand Maker’s Mark, is bringing back its beefsteak dinner to Oklahoma City. On Sept. 26, attendees will be immersed in a whiskey lover’s paradise as they are served the finest beefsteak and bourbon. The event will take place at Cattlemen’s Steakhouse, and doors open at 6 p.m.
During the event, those in attendance will be presented with delicious beefsteak, an open bar and of course, plenty of Maker’s Mark bourbon garnished with herbs grown from seed to harvest by the residents that live at the Center of Family Love. On top of the delicious food and drinks, CFL promises a night of non-stop entertainment. Live music from the Bottom of the Barrel band, exclusive raffle items, and an exciting live auction including a trip to Florida will fill the evening with fun.
"Beefsteak dinners have a rich history, and we're proud to carry on the tradition in our own unique way," says Debbie Espinosa, president and CEO of Center of Family Love.
CFL’s event, however, is much more than a night to savor steak, sip delicious drinks and celebrate winning raffle numbers. It is a night to give back, since the proceeds from the event will be given to the Center of Family Love, a nonprofit whose mission is to empower and support neurodiverse adults through job coaching, personal career development and life enriching programs. CFL enables those with diagnoses ranging from Down syndrome to traumatic brain injuries to live fulfilling lives while providing residential and medical support. Residents at CFL are provided services free of charge for a lifetime.
“The Center of Family Love is such a special place … a place where each individual is given love, respect and a sense of dignity,” explained Bill Samuels Jr., chairman emeritus of Maker’s Mark. “Several years back I visited and witnessed firsthand the love, respect and care these individuals with special needs received. The many smiles told it all.”
