This is part of a series to introduce the seminarians of the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City.
What is your home parish? My home parish is Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Lawton
What seminary do you attend? I attend Kenrick-Glennon Seminary in Saint Louis.
If it is God’s will, what year will you be ordained a priest? God willing, I will be ordained to the priesthood in 2026.
What advice would you give to someone discerning a call to the priesthood? My advice would be don't fight him, let yourself surrender to God's will, no matter where he leads you. He knows what's best.
What do you look forward to most about becoming a priest? I look forward to celebrating the Mass, of course. I also look forward to Anointing of the Sick, including Viaticum and Apostolic Pardon, because I know these impact souls in a special way that echoes into eternity.
Name one thing that every Catholic needs to know. Every Catholic needs to know how to pray, not simply in a routine or labor-intensive way. I call it “free-style prayer.” Do whatever form of prayer works for you in that moment. The important thing is creating and maintaining an intimate, lasting union with the Lord.
Why choose a life of sacrificial love? Any life worth living is one of sacrificial love. It is what defines us as Catholics. Love entails sacrifice, regardless of your state in life.
