Diocesan technology leaders from across the country traveled to Oklahoma City during the last week of June for the 39th annual Diocesan Information Solutions Community (DISC) Conference. Conference attendees were able to see the sights of Oklahoma City, including celebration of the conference’s opening mass with Bishop Jeffrey Monforton from the Diocese of Steubenville in the Blessed Stanley Rother Shrine Chapel.
Attendees networked with their peers from other dioceses and archdioceses, met with vendors and listened to talks on industry trends and best practices.
Jeff Hardy, president of the Diocesan Information Solutions Community and director of technology for the Diocese of Austin, Texas, celebrated the successful conference by saying, “We not only celebrate the successful gathering of 66 IT leaders from 57 dioceses and archdioceses from the US and Canada, but also commend the incredible hospitality of our host. Oklahoma City provided a warm and welcoming backdrop for our event, complementing the knowledge sharing and networking that makes this conference so valuable, with its unique energy. We also extend our heartfelt appreciation to the members of the archdiocesan staff who played an integral role in ensuring the smooth execution of this conference.”
Connor Keef, director of technology for the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City, played a key role in organizing and hosting the annual conference. Several members of the archdiocesan chancery staff volunteered their time to manage an information table at the conference to register attendees and answer questions.
The conference next year will be held in Orlando, Florida. To learn more about the conference and the group, visit discinfo.org.
