Some of the most sought-after Catholic speakers and musicians will be in Oklahoma City on Dec. 7 to join Archbishop Coakley for an inspiring day of celebration and formation.
The Archdiocesan Convocation will include the release of Archbishop Coakley’s pastoral plan for the next 10 years for the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City – “Vision 2030: Building a Culture of Conversion and Discipleship.”
The event is free. Register before Dec. 5 and lunch will be provided. Register at archokc.org/convocation.
The event is in downtown Oklahoma City at the Cox Convention Center from 8:45 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. The event will conclude with Mass at 4 p.m. celebrated by Archbishop Coakley.
The national leaders speaking at the event are Jeff Cavins, who published The Great Adventure Bible series and Kevin Cotter with Amazing Parish. They will be joined by guest speakers Andre Regnier, with Catholic Christian Outreach (CCO) and Dianne Davis, creator of ChristLife. The inspiring presentations will be accompanied by uplifting music by Josh Blakesley, who is most known by his appearances at Steubenville youth conferences.
Jeff Cavins is passionate about helping people understand Scripture and become disciples of Jesus Christ. He is best known for creating “The Great Adventure Catholic Bible Learning System,” which has helped hundreds of thousands of people to engage in Scripture in an life-changing way. Cavin’s other recent projects include his podcast, “The Jeff Cavins Show.” He recently wrote, “The Activated Disciple.”
Kevin Cotter is the executive director of The Amazing Parish and served as senior director of curriculum at FOCUS, where he worked for 11 years. Cotter has appeared on Catholic radio and television, including EWTN, Relevant Radio, Immaculate Heart Radio and on SiriusXM’s The Catholic Channel. His work has been featured on Catholic websites, including Denver Catholic, National Review, Catholic Exchange and Life Teen.
Andre Regnier founded Catholic Christian Outreach (CCO) in 1988, which has been calling countless people to deeper conversion and a Christ-centered life. In 2015, he was awarded the Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice Medal for distinguished service to the Church. This is the highest medal awarded to laity by the Pope. His books include “Catholic Missionary Identity,” “Five Tenets to Renew the World,” and “Clear & Simple: How to Have Conversations that Lead to Conversion.”
Dianne Davis joined ChristLife in 2012. She was raised in a devout Catholic family and made a personal commitment to Jesus and surrendered her life to him in 2001. She went from "loving" Jesus to "falling in love" with him and her life has never been the same. She is a teacher in the ChristLife series. Her greatest desire is to share Jesus Christ and help others do the same.
Josh Blakesley has acknowledged a simple calling: To make music that moves people into prayer and action. Blakesley has performed with wide variety of Christian artists like Matt Maher, Andrew Peterson, Jars of Clay and the Newsboys as well as several international papal events. He also works directly with the Franciscan University of Steubenville, Life Teen International, Catholic HeartWork Camp, Adore Ministries as well as many churches, camps and conferences.
