OKLAHOMA CITY – Due to concerns and requirements related to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City has cancelled Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Youth Camp for summer 2020.
“This was a very difficult decision that we wish we didn’t have to make, but the quality of the camp experience and the safety of our youth and their families is too important to risk,” said Daniel Spurr, camp coordinator. “We love camp, our kids love camp and we will work to stay connected as a camp community this summer and continue to help young people experience God's love.”
All families who have registered their children for camp will receive a full refund.
With guidance from the American Camping Association and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, staff of the Office of Youth, Young Adult and Campus Evangelization and Discipleship are working to find other opportunities to serve youth this summer.
Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Youth Camp offers an opportunity for a faith-filled experience in a safe environment. It has been shaping young Catholics’ lives for more than 20 years. Camp promotes personal and spiritual growth in each young person by developing their prayer life, social skills, independence and respect for others.
Camp is located on 480 acres outside of Luther. Campers stay in cabins, and participate in activities such as swimming, archery, hiking, fishing, daily Mass, canoeing, arts and crafts, prayer, a talent show and community building games.
