A bouncy house, tug-of-war, dunk tanks and food awaited the children from The Boys and Girls Club of Oklahoma County when they arrived Oct. 28 at the carnival organized by the Class of 2022.
All 171 seniors helped with the annual service project.
“Traditionally, the senior class does a service project together as kind of a culminating act of service,” said Christine Pankratz-West, senior class sponsor.
The Halloween carnival allowed seniors to spend time with younger children and gave them an opportunity to be a positive influence.
“We do it to help give back to the community and just teach the values of service to the senior class,” Senior Vice President Ashley Hill said.
From e-mails to the seniors on the importance of service to the fundraising efforts to benefit The Boys and Girls Club, a lot of work was done behind the scenes to make the project a success.
“Everyone played their part. We made the kids smile,” Senior President Anson Nguyen said.
