Sister Mary Lotter, a Discalced Carmelite Nun of Piedmont, died June 13, 2024.
She was born July 5, 1933, in New York, N.Y., to Alfons and Eleanor (Schloer) Lotter. She entered the Carmelite Monastery in 1960 and made her profession of Vows on May 26, 1962. During her 64 years as a religious nun, she served as the maintenance and groundskeeper for the monastery which she loved.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her blood sister, Sr. Monica, O.C.D., her brother Rudy, and all her religious sisters at the Carmelite Monastery.
A vigil was held on June 19 at Smith & Kernke in Oklahoma City. The Mass of Christian Burial was June 20 at the Catholic Pastoral Center in Oklahoma City. Interment followed at the Carmelite Cemetery in Piedmont.
