Saint Patrick Catholic Church will celebrate its patron saint with a festival themed, “I arise today in the Blessed Trinity.” Irish festivities kick off with the church parish participating in the Saint Patrick’s Day parade at 10 a.m. on March 15 in Stockyards City, featuring historically acclaimed Saint Brigid of Kildare and Saint Patrick who will be sharing Irish blessings with parade attendees.
The celebration will continue with a special Mass to be concelebrated by Father Boniface Copelin and Father Joseph Arledge at 10 a.m. on March 16 at Saint Patrick Catholic Church, 2121 N. Portland Ave. in Oklahoma City, in partnership with the O’klahoma Irish Heritage Society, followed by a festival of Irish music, food booths, dancers and more. A Saint Patrick’s Day Mass will be celebrated at 8:15 a.m. on March 17 in the chapel on the church grounds.
Father Arledge of Saint Patrick Catholic Church expressed, “Our Saint Patrick’s Day festival is a time to reflect on the life and ministry of our patron saint, Saint Patrick, and celebrate his contribution to the faith. We invite the community to join us for a taste of Irish culture, family fun and fellowship with our church on this special occasion.”
“Every year, we look forward to the opportunity to celebrate Mass at Saint Patrick Catholic Church to honor Saint Patrick and enjoy the Irish festivities,” said Tim O’Connor, member of the O’klahoma Irish Heritage Society.
