Originally scheduled for Nov. 5, the events involving Tepeyac Hill on the site of the Blessed Stanley Rother Shrine are now scheduled for Dec. 11 and 12 – coinciding with the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
On Dec. 11, the gates to the grounds will open at 10 a.m. and people will be able to congregate on the grounds. At 1 p.m. there will a Mass outdoors and the reveal and blessing of the large images of Our Lady of Guadalupe and Saint Juan Diego on top of Tepeyac Hill.
Following Mass, there will be activities and festivities including food trucks, an apparitions play, live music and an opportunity for visitors to go up Tepeyac Hill.
The day will conclude around 6 p.m. as the grounds are prepared for the following morning.
On Dec. 12, the morning will begin with Mañanitas at 5 a.m., followed by a rosary, pan dulce and the ability for people to visit the grounds and Tepeyac Hill. Mañanitas is a traditional serenade to Our Lady of Guadalupe on her Feast Day.
Both of these events are free to attend and open to the public. As these are outdoor events, weather conditions may also affect the schedules of the day. More information about these events can be found online at rothershrine.org/tepeyac-hill.
