The business office of the Catholic Pastoral Center handles many of the business related activities for the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City. This includes accounting, budgeting, asset management, benefits, and payroll for the Catholic Pastoral Fund. The business office also provides support to the parishes of the Archdiocese in many of the same areas.
The business office is responsible for maintaining records for all business related matters pertaining to the Archdiocese. Investments and fixed assets of the Archdiocese are managed by the business office with the guidance of the Archdiocesan Finance Council. Accounts payable for the Catholic Pastoral Center are processed through the business office.
In accordance with cannon law an annual budget is created for the Catholic Pastoral Center Fund. The Archdiocesan Finance Council reviews the budget and its recommendations are considered as the Archbishop approves the budget.
Financial records of the Catholic Pastoral Center fund are audited each year by a public accounting firm and a summary of the financial information is furnished to the entire Archdiocese by publication in the Sooner Catholic newspaper.
The financial reports from the parishes are submitted annually and after computation, the Assessments for Central Diocesan Operations (ACDO) and Priests’ Retirement are submitted to each parish. The business office is responsible for collecting both assessments and billing of shared services.
Benefits for the Archdiocese are administered by the business office. The business office keeps up with compliance and regulatory issues applicable to the Archdiocese.
