Walking with Moms in Need is a year of service where Catholic parishes and communities "walk in the shoes" of local pregnant and parenting women in need.
Everyone should know how to help moms in difficult circumstances.
While not trying to turn Catholic parishes into pregnancy centers, we can support local pregnancy centers where they exist, and we can also find and share other resources with pregnant and parenting women.
And where there are few local resources, we can create our own, based on the gifts of the parish community!
We hope you and your parish will join us in this Year of Service.
Interested in Walking with Moms in Need at your parish?
It is easy! All you need is a couple of people who would also be willing to help!
Here is a quick overview of the basics:
1. Begin by praying for the moms in your parish as a team
2. Meet with your Pastor and Archdiocesan Respect Life Coordinators to compile a list of local resources prepared to help moms in need, share the homily helps with your Pastor, and compile a list of the ministries in your parish that are already helping moms
3. Discern a plan to distribute the resources to your fellow parishioners so everyone is equipped to walk with a mom in need!
Here are some links to help you get started, but also feel free to email [email protected] to help you get a team in place to support moms at your parish!
